An Israeli company, Fluorinex, seems to have found a whole new use for shock therapy. Well it’s not very large shocks in that it’s more a mild electrical current that flows through your mouth. If that’s not put you off yet then you’ll be glad to know that their invention is meant to protect your teeth against cavities.
Combine 9 volts with some special gel that goes inside the mouth tray and you will be creating “an efficient ion exchange process through an electro-chemical reaction in which fluor ions displace the hydroxide ions at the outer layer of the tooth.” My science is a little rusty but the result does sound good!
