Windows Mobile Treo Microsoft has a certain way with being able to release their mistakes and suddenly do a 180 spin and turn things around. They’ve done it with Internet Explorer and managed to grab the browser market share and here they are doing it again but this time in the cellular market. Windows Mobile has certainly come a long way and is now actually a viable alternative. You know that because many carriers are backing this platform and some, most notably Orange, have been backing them for quite some time.

It certainly is strange to think that we would ever see a Palm device running Windows Mobile but that day has finally come. The borg has assimilated another victim ;-) Gates was quoted as saying:

I think a lot of mobile windows users will want to switch to this device. The big challenge will be keeping this product in stock.

The Treo device bears a colour touch screen, QWERTY keyword and push e-mail capabilities. Even better there will be in inbuilt camera and optional storage via SD Cards.

Blackberry needs to catch a wake up call up note what cool things are coming out there now. You’ll be able to pick this cellphone up for around $650 most likely in Q1 2006. [via news.com]
