Out of this world technology news and updates
CD’s are so 1990’s now that you really don’t need them in the car anymore, let alone a 6 disc CD shuttle. That’s why Volkswagen are now offering a USB connection in place of the CD Shuttle for only 195 Euros. Drop in a USB Flash Drive and the car automatically thinks you’ve got a 6 disc CD shuttle installed.
Your virtual CD’s will show up from folders that have been created on the flash drive and will retain all ID3 information. You’ll not notice much different on the actual radio - just use it as if it were a CD.
The USB connection should be available this year (in Europe) in the Golf, Golf Plus and Touran models with more to follow later. [via everythingusb]
